As Gibraltar is made of limestone it contains over 100 caves. St. Michael's Cave is the best known and a popular tourist attraction. It is located in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve high up in the Rock of Gibraltar.

Large hall inside St. Michael's Cave is called Cathedral Cave. It is used as an auditorium which holds many of Gibraltar's events, including also rock concerts.

It looks very interesting karj and the lightning nice too , in your shot one can see the fine tonalities , good framing even if with the 10-22 the scene could be more interesting , well done and thanks to share .
Stefano.

Ciao
Vinicio

Hi Kari,
It certainly is an impressive looking place and must have been interesting to visit. Reminds me a bit of an image my friend shir (shirgold) posted of a salt mine in Poland. A nice cut of the hall and I like the detail of the rock formations.Have a good evening.
Regards, David

What a wonderful location for a rock concert. I wonder what the sound is like. Well taken image of the cave with good exposure in a situation. No tripod at 3 seconds!?
Well done
Kath

Hi Kari.
Very interesting photo. These caves I didn't knew about. Great idea that they have made such an unusual tourist attraction of it. Though it seems a bit unsecure to sit under those stalactites when they're playing rock music.

Per

Rock concert in rocky caves :))
LOL!
Smart idea indeed :)
But what if the rocks roll over the audience during the concert? Therefore, i find the idea a bit risky as well. However, you made a superb photo out of this extraordinary location, Kari. Very nice and colorful cadrage. Are they the rock stars over there, who are only visible in small apertures? :))
Cheers,
Deniz

Hi Kari,
Usually I'm not found of this type of caves with artificial illumination.
Here I like that you included people and the chairs, to get a better idea of the place (and relating it with the note).

Kari,
a well choosen title for this image and very similar to the one that I choose for one of my last images presented from the Death Valley. Despite not using a tripod you got a very good overall sharpness additionally to the blurr of the people giving some dynamics.
How is the acoustics in there?
Peter

A very nice cave view. I was wandering about the "stage" in the title, but it is much more clear when the image is opening. I believe having a concert there much be rather strange.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Hello Kari,

A stage like I like them! Totally different than what I experience every day in my musician work!

Have a great day!

Hi Kari,
Thanks for this very interesting shot and for the useful info.
(by the way thanks for the comment; i made the correction about Liverpool)
