Holy Loch, Argyllshire Scotland.
Photo taken at Lazaretto Point_ Sandbank.
So named The Holy Loch when Irish monks came from Ireland and settled here. around the 8 th century.
Before WW2 there were small boat building yards here,
In war time, it was used as Naval base.
It then returned to quiet area.
In 1962 the U.S.A set up a submarine naval base here till 1992.
When slowly it returned to a quiet area once again.
I believe there is going to be a boating marina here sometime in the near future.
At present as you see, as lovely area. |

Hello Robert,
I like this view of the lake.. beautiful natural colours, calm water and nice boats sailing about the lake! Looks like the clouds are touching the tops of some mouontains..
I thought that a bit of the bottom of the photo may be cropped a bit? Maybe this will be quite a different variant with a differene subject.. anyway I've made a WS photo, so have a look :)
best regards,
Elena
