[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
The Isle of Skye is one of those achingly romantic Scottish locations. Situated off the west coast of Scotland the islands have been battered by the Atlantic weather systems to create a unique and rugged environment with much to offer the travel photographer.

Hi Mark
Incredible that this is Great Britain, I have never been that far North, but still it looks like something I would expect on a completely different continent.
Impressive

Thanks to that picture, I understand better why the Islay Malt tastes so good.

cheers!

Hi Mark!

Beautiful and yet intimdating picture with the dark clouds looming in the background. Very nice composition both with the colours and centered mountains. Also like the detail with the waterfall at the left of the picture!

You well catched the Skye mood, with the cloudy sky, rocky mountains and green meadows. I would hve cropped the bottom to have a landscape picture, in order to get only the waterfall, and not the river.

mark,

Belated welcome to trekearth. This is a beautiful photo. Great colors and well exposed. I've always wanted to visit the English isles, and when I do, I hope to catch beautiul and rugged landscapes like this. To get everything exposed well, did you merge multiple photos or use a graduated ND filter? Thanks!

- brad

Fantastic landscape, very good colors.
Good use of ND filter.

Hi Mark,
I've been in Isle of Skye a few years ago and saw wonderful Cuillin Hills, but not like this ! Your picture looks like a mix of scottish landscape in the top part and of tropical one in the bottom. I love the sky too. The sharpness is excellent too.
BTW, welcome to TE ;)
Regards,
Olivier

Hi Mark:

Nice shot of the Cuillins. What's the name of this waterfall? I just have to go there when I go. :) I think your composition is nice, and you did a good job handling difficult lighting conditions, but the clouds seem to be a bit crazy. Perhaps HDR, perhaps something else? Not sure. Otherwise, I quite like it.
