Will this be the Hammer Throw Scottish gold medallist is many years to come? Have you noticed that the motivation to do sport rises considerably when the Olympics are on? People are watching sport whenever they turn on the TV, even if they want to or not, and it seems to just give the mind that drive of "oh, I could be doing that!" and off you go into a spree of Sport! Not that that’s a bad thing at all!
This child was being hyperactive around this water feature and seemed to be getting into the Olympic spirit, or who knows, maybe he will be in the Olympics in the years to come!

Here’s a little Summer Olympic history:

1896 - Athens, Greece
1900 - Paris, France
1904 - St. Louis, United States
1908 - London, United Kingdom
1912 - Stockholm, Sweden
1920 - Antwerp, Belgium
1924 - Paris, France
1928 - Amsterdam, Netherlands
1932 - Los Angeles, United States
1936 - Berlin, Germany
1948 - London, United Kingdom
1952 - Helsinki, Finland
1956 - Melbourne, Australia
1960 - Rome, Italy
1964 - Tokyo, Japan
1968 - Mexico City, Mexico
1972 - Munich, West Germany (now Germany)
1976 - Montreal, Canada
1980 - Moscow, U.S.S.R. (now Russia)
1984 - Los Angeles, United States
1988 - Seoul, South Korea
1992 - Barcelona, Spain
1996 - Atlanta, United States
2000 - Sydney, Australia
2004 - Athens, Greece
2008 - Beijing, China
2012 - London, United Kingdom

Hello Paul

Nice framing.Being a large frames fan,I only can like this shot.Even if is taken recently,I have the feeling of an old looking picture, maybe because of the b&w choice.
Sports can`t do nothing wrong...a healthy body and a good spirit.
Nice picture.

Have a nice weekend...being already friday!

Hello Paul! Hm I don't really know, I could live without the Olympics but I must admit that I stay on certain sport programs a little longer than I usually would so it must have an effect but maybe we heard so much about it before the Games began with all the pros and cons that you almost feel obliged. I like your wide frame here, it adds a great artistic aspect, but maybe I would given the boy a little bit more room to "play" but this is just my opinion. Very good work indeed! Enjoy your WE ... Barbara.

Hi Paul,
What a stunning B&W composition vith superb reflection.TFS.

Ciao Paul,
this is an exceptional shot in b &W. the sporting future and not only, he will be of this and of other children, we hope to leave him a world with a lot of peace and solidarity as in the Olympic spirit.
good job
Giorgio

Very nice compo and framing. The B&W is perfect too. For the Olympic history, here is some more facts:

Portugal won 4 gold medals in:

1984 - Los Angeles – Carlos Lopes – Marathon
1988 – Seoul – Rosa Mota – Marathon
1996 – Atlanta - Fernanda Ribeiro – 10,000 meters
And...
2008 – Beijing – Nélson Évora – Triple jump

Antonio

Hi Paul
Beautiful black and white composition.
I like the reflections and the frame.
Interesting note also
TFS and have a nice weekend
Aires

The b&w coice gives this photo a slight retro look. If the young athlet grows as big as the frame he has a bright future in front of him.$Have a nice we
John
