The Returning Olympians
 |
|
| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
This one is for Tyro - to encourage him to try some panoramas.
There was a parade through the streets of the returning Scottish Olympic medallists, with Chris Hoy and his three gold cycling being very prominent. Fellow medalists cycling team-mate Ross Edgar, rower Katherine Grainger, and canoeist David Florence were on board as well. Although here the police bikers look a bit grim, they were quite jovial and grinning along with the crowds. Over 50,00 people were said to have lined the Royal Mile and the open top bus took about an hour to go down from Edinburgh Castle to the Scottish Parliament.
Although the skies were very grey it was quite light, a curious combination for photography.

Hello Alastair
In the Olympics of 2008, Greece didn't gain any gold medal.
I am glad that Scotland do it.
Nice photo but it would be better if the photographer with the bag wasn't in the middle of it.
Regards
Hi Alastair,
Woooooooow! This one is absolute impressive! :)
Very good street observation with fantastic atmosphere.
Best Regards!
Chris
