Photographer's Note

This is Glen Shee south of Braemar, Scotland. It's a fairly isolated valley with pretty variable weather (like most of Scotland!). As you can see from the photo, the road down the glen meanders to follow the river.

This is a place I find incredibly difficult to capture. The shape of the valley is such that it's difficult to take in one image (rather than going panoramic), while if you try to take it as a panorama using multiple shots the valley gets lost. This is the best of a bunch of images I took, although I'm still not entirely happy with it!

Incidentally, while I'm grateful for the comments, I'm not sure about those who say the foreground should be lightened - this may have more to do with monitor calibration than anything. The image looks wildly different on LCD and CRT screens, too.
