Photographer's Note

This is Kaln, the eagle owl from the barn owl centre in Gloucester. The eagle owl ( Hibou Grand-Duc, in French) is the largest owl in Europe.
Owls are farsighted and unable to see anything clearly within a few centimetres of their eyes.
They feel their caught preys with the use of "filoplumes", which are hair-like feathers on the beak and feet that act like "feelers".
Their far vision, especially in low light, is exceptionally good!
