Bass Rock, a photo from East Lothian, Scotland

Photographer's Note

There is a place just off the coast of Scotland which is ruled by the gannets and the gulls. The man has left the lighthouse a few decades ago and the birds have taken over to create the largest gannet colony in the world (about 50,000). This place is known as Bass Rock.

An interesting shot as normally the focus of shots is the Bass Rock, whereas here it is just a background for the birds. This works very well. A good sky as well.
