Photographer's Note

Yesterday as well as today was a gorgeous sunny day, and in between lessons I managed a few shots at the beach in Felixtowe. These are remnants from the 2nd world war when their was a landing stage for the boats and other water transporters, around Landguard fort.You can see from the WORKSHOP post the container port through the old jetty posts.

A-ha ! some oak at last. well it looks like it might be !

Lovely colours and a fantastic sky ! I like the strong opposing diagonals in your composition, though would have been tempted myself to contrive to get the bolt pointing at the true corner to emphasise the effect. Now, by cropping an inch-ish of sky, maybe from your original somehow differently.

either way - nice job.

Wonderful warm cold colour contrasts between the blue sky & yellow red wood. Nice textural details & I like the diagonal slant of the nail & the wood at right angles. Good sharpness & tight framing. Tfs!

I like the tight crop of this image which fillsthe frame and direction of the wood grains at ninety degrees to the bolt the direction of the clouds also runs at right angles to the wood grain. It adds a graphic design feel to the underlying lines of the image. Good exposure and capture of the colours too. Well done.
