Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

This will be my last post from LLandudno and it shows the Victorian Pier stretching out into the Irish Sea.

Again this is a photograph that benefits significantly from being viewed here on the Beta site.

A British Tourist Authority report in 1975 said of it: '.... It zooms out of the sea.... in a spectacular Indian Gothic style rather like a Maharajah's palace floating on a lake. Cast iron, brackets of iron lacework, an outstandingly pretty balustrade like an enlarged fish net, ogee roofs curling away to the sky, all add up to a totally pleasurable experience.'

I saw men fishing from its seaward end and though I find it a very boring sport, I know they were having an enjoyable time.

I have called my post 'Before the Crowds' because on a cold, February morning there were no people up on the lawned area, near the bandstand, I just had to share it with the long tree shadows.

From a point nearby where my photograph was taken, there is a Baird's Circle. Poetry sessions take place hers in the high season. I will add a photograph as a w/s.

Have a great day, Bev :-)
