Whit Cliffs of Dover

| Backed by its famous White Cliffs, Dover is situated in Kent, on England's south-eastern tip and is the UK's closest geographical point to Continental Europe. Every day of the year, regular cross Channel ferries travel between the port, Calais and Dunkirk in France, and Ostend in Belgium. This is where we disembarked on the end of our cruise in 2002. I took this picture half an hour before we docked. Dover looks uninteresting from the ship terminal, but if you look closely on their white cliffs, you can see old medieval buildings, there are castles to visit and imposing fortresses by the sea, explore a Roman house or see a real Bronze Age boat in a high-tech gallery. For a different perspective, sail around the harbour on a boat tour, get a bird's eye view from an open top bus, or travel back in time on an historic railway. |

Hi,
I've seen this view yesterday when I was in the ferry. Too bad the weather wasn't so nice for me. As I see, you've indeed had a beautiful weather which making it such a lovely picture of the white Cliffs of Dover.
