..another wonder wide-view composition from you Mark,
this one has many interesting elements..the sun, its reflection, the boat, the couple's silhouette.. and all these work well together in this scene.. also great colors..

Mark, very nice composition, poetycal and very worked. The colors and the contrast are very nice. I like the point of view, because you show many elements that composed this picture like: the sun and it reflections on the water, the two persons with shadows, the boat running, the sky. This are the elements that form your picture and it secret.

the sunset is really well caputred, with a good light.

Wonderful sunset shot Mark. You've caught the sun at just the right height, giving a warm glow to the sky and contrasting well with the sea.

I agree with you that the couple and the boat make the photo special.

I think I was a mistake not to get close to the couple,
First you don’t know what they would say because you didn’t try and second the Perspective would have changed and you would have a different POV
And maybe a better one then this.
The composition it self is NOT bad but it’s not a WOW if you know what I mean
I find the sun a bit too bright and actually my eye is drawn to 3 things
First the sun, the boat and then the two little lovers and its not quits in the same line.

It’s all good individually, the boat with the sunset, and the line water trail behind it.
The sun all along would be a bit boring
Or the lovers and the sun

But I think to include all 3 you had to change your timing of capture (when the boat was on the right side of the frame, and /or in line with the lovers and the sun)
Or to change the POV
And last but not least you say “I wasn’t best pleased with any of them at the time “maybe it was only the PP but maybe YOU were right

Hi Mark.
Beautiful colors with this superb sunset.
Excellent silhouettes with this couple on the right !
The boat fills this empty place on the left.
The reflect of the sun and the band of clouds give a good touch.

Great composition with the people in the foreground, the boat with it's wake in the middle, and the sunset and clouds in the background. Nice contrasts between the silhouettes of the foreground and background, and the half silhouette of the boat, and with the contrasting colours of sea and sky.
I didn't realise Teeside could be so photogenic!

Another good sunset shot MArk. The colours, reflections and silhouettes all make a pleasing image. Compositionally it could have been improved if the boat was further to the right so that it wasn't about to leave the frame. As well as taking the shot earlier if you had moved to the right yourself too, you would have a nice triangle with the sun, boat and couple on the left.
BTW I think the boat could be the pilot.
