Photographer’s Note
I have been trying to capture this church with it's wonderful ancient tree full of mistletoe for some time now.
Although this isn't the shot I still have in mind I was attracted by the lichens and moss growing on the retaining wall.
Tech: Split red&green filter used in B&W mode, Image cropped in PS and levels adjusted.

Wow, very artistic. It looks to me like a picture taken in the night, lit by the moonlight.
Great detail, sharpness, perspective, DOF, composition and great postprocessing. I can't think of anything to be changed. Perfect!

Excellent shot! You really have an expert eye for B&W. I really like the play of light in this shot and the dramatic contrasts in the sky, and the wonderful textures of the plants and lichens. I might be tempted to rotate it a little to make the church appear vertical, although the shot is marvellous as it is :-D

A very moody picture as I guess you intended. A very fine B&W job indeed! The compositon with the church and the tree balancing each other and the wall running diagonally is very strong. The bush on the left might have a bit to much to say IMHO.

The tree is marvellous, as is the light on the church in combination with the dark sky. The DOF is excellent, with everything extremely sharp. I think that I should make more use of my tripod (but I hate carrying it when I am on holidays...)!

The contrast in this photo is remarkable! It almost makes the photo look three-dimensional.

I think all in this image is well done, diagonal lines, light, texture and composition. A great photo, really. Congratulation. To do critique, may be the left side of church is a bit burned, losing the wall texture. Excellent.

thank you Richard for your note. At first, I thought this was a post-processing effect. Anyway, the result is really excellent.

I like it. I like the contrast between the church and the sky. I like the tree on the right side but I'm not sure about the one on the left side. Good work.

Incredible !
One of my friends was looking at this picture when I saw it over his shoulder.
I think the contrasts are perfect. It looks like the picture just came out of an Hitchcock movie !
One of my favorites for sure !

Really really nice. Wonderful texture and character! A sense of elevation... and perspective isn't skewed.

The lines are so powerful and eye catching! The cropping is also excellent, I think. On the right side, it seems good to be able to see where the wall meets the ground.
I am enjoying all these textures too. I like how I can see the wide variation in tones in all these things, so well; As you mentioned, the lichens/moss/other moldy stuff :P on the wall, but also the tree and church, awesome subjects. Whew! Good work!

SAlut Richard,
Cordialement.
