Photographer’s Note
«Mind the gap»... You might hear this warning all the time when you use the London subway, but the origin of this message comes from a long time ago...
In 1952, a crowded double-decker bus had to leap from one bascule to the other when the bridge began to rise with the bus still on it.
Another interesting fact... In 1977, Tower Bridge was painted red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Before that, it was painted a chocolate brown colour.

Hi Andre
This is a very well framed view of this famous London landmark. Your pov gives a good sense of depth and grandeur, and the contrasts have come out well too.

Salut Cousin,

Excellent viewpoint for this shot, it adds grandeur to the tower and depth to the image. A rather unusual view of this London landmark. Congratulations.

Olá Andre, interesting information, indeed. I allways wondered about that strange (at least for me) "gap" term. This fantastic perspective is not so original and we've seen it many times - what I like here is the smart inclusion of the fence at left foreground and especially the way the middle bar is aligned with the shadow under the bridge. The extra graphism is interesting in the image and it's also interesting the fact that the upper right corner seems closer than this left corner - that's what I love so much in this kind of strong perspectives - the illusion of the visual impact. Your composition is perfect.
Ricardo
P.S.- Your previous post (also quite good) reminded me a lot the huge Convent of Mafra, in Portugal:

hello Andre.
A nice simple composition to frame this bridge. There is enough character in this landmark not to use photographic tricks to add interest. Good exposure and excellent capture of the colors present. The sky looks great, did you use a polariser?
Very well done friend,
Chris.

Nikki
