I know this isn't the usual "TE" shot, but I wanted to share with my TE friends and mentors my recent work... I may not be doing dedicated landscapes recently, but I am still clicking away working on various projects before my degree course starts!

This gorgeous landscape is Westonbirt Arboretum, it's one my favorite subjects. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/westonbirt

Mystical and beautiful. I really enjoy it.

Leilana,
I don't think TE has to feature "straight" landscapes - after all, we're still seeing the arboretum - just with a little bit extra! I'd encourage this sort of variation.

First off, I'd say the shot is generally too dark - which may be why it hasn't attracted much attention. But I notice, as expected, that the eye adjusts to this over time. Happens a lot to me when editing things in low light at night. The more time to spend in front of the screen, the brighter the image becomes. Then, when you go back to it the next day, I find it's become practically invisible!

Regards
Colin

wow - this is a really cool self portrait.
I love the tones youve got out of the forest in black and white - it looks very professional.
Great use of light!

:)

What is this? Leilani in Wonderland?! :)

Really creative shot from you Leilani - I like it a lot. In some way I expect to see trolls running around and perhaps a Magic Witch floating about on a broom stick! What happened? Did you leave it at home!!? Only kidding LOL!

Very well done indeed. Lovely tones and composition and of course creative flair. I bet you are itching to start your new course :)

Hi Leilani, Ilike the contrast range very much and how the wind gives a touch of dynamism as can be observed on the skirt. Is it the wind or just her movement, i dont see it on her hair. Rgds, Alex

There is a lot of inspiration in this photo, I like the various nuances and most of all, the light and the sort of wind and breath, giving movement or vibrations to the old pine trees - the girl on the right is also amazing, great !
Compliments,
Cath.

I like this. There's something eerie about it though. Perhaps it is the almost infra-red look about the greyscale. It looks a little like a movie set and the shallow DOF gives it that painted background look. What is calling the model as she looks to the sky trapped in some kind of vortex?

Nice legs, I mean ... work.

Regards,

Tim

Hello Leilani

An intriguing image made even more so if its a self portrait. It is definitely in the realms of the surreal and all the better for it. The figure looks partially solarized and the trees have the feel of a shot from an old film camera.
Captivating
