Dresden is called "city of Baroque", the Stable Yard is one of the few testimonies of the Renaissance in Dresden.
The stable yard is part of the Dresden Castle. In former time it was a place for riding tournaments (built 1586 - 1588), it is one of the oldest riding tournament places in the world, which remained in originally arrangement.
In the photo you can see the Long Hallway, a long arcaded open structure, it connects Johanneum (stable building) with central building of Royal Palace.
