Photographer’s Note
Last night, Cyprus had its first Thunder storm of after a long hot dry summer. Not wanting to miss out, I decided to drive down to the salt flats in Akrotiri.
I had my car facing away from the storm, the rear door open and my tripod sitting in the back. I was using a cable release, lens set to manual focus at infinity setting. Exposure was about 8 seconds. I had been shooting a series of frames of about 15 seconds each, hoping for a strike. After a strike, I kept the shutter open for another second or two.
This is the first in a series of four.
