Photographer’s Note

Lonely tree, amongst the Brutia pines,of the Pafos forest. There are more than 700 species of Eucalyptus, and only 9 do not occur in Australia. Many, are known as gum trees, because they exude sap from any break in the bark. The name Eucalyptus comes from the Greek: εuκάλυπτος, eukályptos, meaning well covered.
