Photographer's Note
This is an ice tower. Inside the tower is about 3-4m deep. Because of the wind and the architecture of the tower the wall gets inside so cold that you could store ice for some days ... when outside the temperature is more then 30 degrees celcius.

Formas absolutamente incomuns nessa sua bem apresentada fotografia. A construção menor, a direita, também é muito interessante.

Hallo Achim,
Very interesting presentation of this amazing tower. What do they store inside? The entrance we see at the bottom, how is it large? Sorry for all these questions, this image made me curious ;-)

Ciao Achim,
it is the first time that I see a refrigerator tower done with the stone. Probably, it's cooled by the wind as the head of a motor in a motorcycle. Very interesting, with your photo today I have learned a new thing. The photo has been captured very well, with a good light and an excellent sharp, bravo!
Ciao

Very interesting, for the shape but mainly for the use of this stange building. I beleive we often forget that befoe fridges existed, men invented diffrent ways to keep ice or snow preserved for a short period.
All the best,

Hello Achim, very good choice of the sight to the short-nap cloth of the ground which amplifies its height with one pretty note and a quite beautiful well composed image, let us tons them heated naturally by the sun and place is very photogenic c' is a beautiful vestige of a past for a technique of conservation of the cold still in activity within a superb framework, you knew to take the light and restored there all the beauty of this construction, sincerely .............Bonjour Achim, très bon choix de la vue au ras du sol qui amplifie sa hauteur avec une
jolie note et une bien belle image bien composée, les tons réchauffé naturellement par le soleil et endroit est très photogénique

Hi Achim,
Here in our neighbourhood there are a lot of ice-caves with the same purpose. But I think definitively not so beautiful as this remarkable tower and maybe also not so effective.

Hallo Achim,
You have took good profit of the conical shape of that exotic tower to produce a very attractive image graphic wise. I like the inclusion of the ruined wall beside, I think without it the image risked being a bit monotonous and it acts as a lead-in and as a excellent pretext to put the tower off centre. The documentary value of the image is so interesting that it would still be a meritorious post if it wasn't so achieved. It's almost unbelievable that they managed to keep ice in such place, that looks so hot - for what I have seen in North Africa, that yellowish and pinkish colour of the sky denounces how high the air temperature was.
Not that it is really a flaw, at least it doesn't bother much, but I notice a kind of very thin pattern in the sky that looks like the image has been scanned from a dot matrix printer; I guess that it resulted from too much sharpening.
Regards, José.

Bonjours,

Hi Achim,
Here beautiful and interesting photograph, I will be curious to know how the ice is preserved so a long time in this structure, apparently it would be the physical effect of the wind which is engulfed in this structure, really seizing. Savings in electricity with this process !!! Thank you Achim for this discovery.
With all my friendships and a very good evening,
