The site lies in the eastern Zagros
Mountains, 50-160 km east of
Shiraz, and includes two very large
salt-lakes, Tashk and Bakhtegan, in
an internal drainage basin at 1,525
m, the intervening steppic plains
and hills (to 2,597 m), and a large
area of permanent freshwater
marshes and seasonally flooded
plains along the lower Kur river to
the west (Kamjan Marshes). Lake
Tashk is fed by overflow from the
Kamjan Marshes at its west end and
by a large permanent spring at
Gumoon in the north-west. Lake
Bakhtegan receives the bulk of its
water from the main channel of the
Kur which enters at the west. The
two lakes are normally separated by
narrow strips of land but may be
joined during very wet winters to
form a single expanse of water
covering up to 136,500 ha. After
several years of low rainfall, on
the other hand, both lakes may dry
out completely except in the
vicinity of the main springs.

Both lakes have an extraordinary
range of salinities.The lakes
support some Fringing and some
submerged vegetation.
Lake Tashk and Lake Bakhtegan
regularly hold huge numbers of
waterfowl in winter.

Conservation issues Lake Bakhtegan,
Lake Tashk and the intervening hill
ranges were first protected as the
Bakhtegan Protected Region
established in 1968. This status
was upgraded to Wildlife Refuge in
the early 1970s.

Salam Atousa. Incredible place. The waves do look heavy. I like your composition with the dead tree in the foreground and the mountains far away. One does get a good sense of size.It must be a very different place when the birds visit. As for the other matter, I am trying to find an inspirational couplet.Regards and best wishes. Klaudio.

Bonjour Atousa
Bien belle prise que cette photo de cette eau avec ces vagues qui se suivent, cela strie cette quantité d' eau et lui donne un bel effet.cette branche a l' avant et ces montagnes au loin donne une bonne profondeur de champ a votre photo.
Amitiés
Rosa

Salam Atousa,
Wow! I like this compo with these fantastic fanning waves and the dead wood on the foreground beach... I think it is very good!

Salam Atousa
A well composed image with the dry branch in FG adding depth to the scene and I really like the graphism created by the undulating waves. Light and colors are well rendered too.
Cheers

Salam Atousa,
It's a fabulous view of that unique desolated place. The remains of the dead tree it is very well placed , disallows any possibility of monotony and enhances the desolated mood. The waves let us "feel the wind" and the POV and the clouds enhances the depth and the dynamics. A very good photo!

Hi Atousa!
Wonderful shot of what seems a great place. I like think this little piece of wood in the foreground. Then, the little waves and those mountains in the background really make the composition great. Very well captured!

What a strange and beautiful, surreal scenery ! I like the austerity of the place, and the ripples/waves in the lake...

Hello Atousa!

Very interesting shot. Good composition with excellent curved wood in foreground, and great mountains in the background.

Well done!

Jacek

Atousa
Thank you for sharing this photo has been very informative. However I fear this lake has been affected by global warming a lot. We can see the drought on the lower side of the photo.

Salam Atousa!

Very unusual and very impressive landscape! Great composition, great positioning of the wood in the foreground, infinite depth of field and great light managment! Congratulations!

Best regards,
Hercules

Atousa..Salaam..?? long time ??

A decriptive and intersting landformation this..earth and its biosphere are a marvel..one of God's many fascinating creations..one is required to connect well with nature to capture its beauty with 800*200 and have it presented..you have them and you do it well..great one for the archives of a geography teacher..perfect saturation and like the dead twigs and stem in the FG.

Cheers.

Hi Atousa,
great simplicity here, beautiful calm view of lake and sky. I like the piece of dead wood that adds depth to the perspective and those waves.

Very nice view at the lake with waves on it and mountains in the background. Good light and composition.

Bonjour Atousa,
J'aime bien cette photo.
Les vaguelettes forment comme des écailles sur l'étendue d'eau.
Une profindeur de champ intéressante grâce aux branches mortes du premier plan.
Bien vu
Georges
