Approximately 45 kilometers far away from Shiraz, among the world cultural heritage of Persepolis is located. 518 B.C. built by Darius I. With the visit of the gigantic area one can only suspect the former splendid place with the gold and silver of decorations on the palaces, which were pillaged probably 331 B.C. by the troops Alexanders the Great. The largest complex forms "hundred columns hall" with the famous audience Apadana with its 36 high columns decorated with motives of lions and bulls.

Hi Achim,
Interesting and at the same time confusing scene. I take your word these are genuine ruins while there is some kind of impression of surplus of garden decorator. Or a movie props. But probably that's just because I've never been there myself.

Hallo Achim,
Danke!
Viele Grüße

Hello Achim
Fine picture of the ruins of Persepolis. The tall column in the centre pivots the picture well. Nice contrast against the clear blue sky.
Best Regards
