Photographer’s Note

Souq al Mubarakiya is a souq from the old days. A large part of it was re built and it is maintained as a heritage souq and even now we can catch the flavur of the days of old when fishing and pearl diving were the major occupations in Kuwait. It is in Kuwait City.
This part has carpets from all parts of Iran. Beautiful persian rugs from Isfahan, Shiraz and other Iranian cities. There are shops dealing in antiques here too. It is almost 2 pm and in the afternoon the souq wears a deserted air, many of the shops are closed but these were open.
