This was taken in the classically medieval village of Misfah. Set on a hill/cliffside over-looking the entrance to a gorge, Misfah is a mixture of still inhabited and partially destroyed village.

With snaking passageways heading ever downwards, you walk under, around and sometimes through structures all leading to the falaj and terraced plantations set below the village.

On our way back out of the village I saw these two men resting in the shade. They are wearing the traditional dishdasha. Men will tend to wear white ones in the summer and other colours in the cooler seasons.

Behind them you can also see some typical Omani doors. Many of the older doors are made out of wood like this one but these metal decorated and painted doors are more common in rural areas and villages like this.

The painted lines on the wall (yellow, white and red) are national trail markers and can be found all over Oman's rugged, coastal and rural landscapes.
