Photographer’s Note

This photo is take in offshore Khasab, a village that lies in north Oman, right by the Hormuz Strait.
The area is known as 'Norway of Arabia'.

Taking the picture in B/W in my opinion makes the fishing boat (Dhow) stand out against different shades of the huge mountains in the background.
The mountains can go up to 2000m in that area.

Good choice of B/W -- you are right, the boat stands out perfectly and different shades of mountains makes nice levels. Overall look and feel resembles old Chinese paintings, even though it is in Oman. Well done.

This one is really good :-) B&W colours gives the great misty impression, and the different, grey tones of the mountains are beautyful!

The result of this panoramic B&W is very pleasant, with the diferent grey tones of the layers of the mountains in the back, making a wonderful effect. You are right about the dark sillouette of the Dhow - it makes a good contrast with the background. Good work!
