Photographer’s Note
The entire area surrounding Musandam is full of dramatic rocky mountains which plunge into the calm waters of the Arabian Gulf. If you drive for one and half hours from Dubai towards Ras Al Kamah, and then through the border into Oman, you will experience a total conrast in environment. Where Dubai is dominated by busy traffic, a multitude of high-rise buildings and a population in a hurry, Kasab is quiet, peaceful and reflects the true feel of Arabia. It is a great place to get away and enjoy scuba-diving in fantastic clear waters, and to view the many dolphins which reside in the area.

Hi Grant,
Great shot. Like it. The small boat against the rocks gives that extra contrast in size. The sky is a bit over-saturated, but it's okay.
Hmmm, diving and dolphins sounds nice. I could use some dolphins at the moment. A nice vacation... Hmmm....
But that's not the topic here! Nice shot!!

Hi Grant,
the whole peninsula must be a phantastic place. I looked at it on Google Earth. You captured it in a real nice light.

Grant, that is an incredible view. I never would have imagined it so beautiful in Oman. It seems to me that you didn't get the best moment of the day to get the shot. There is to much light in the right upper part of your image, but nevertheless and shows me the beauty of a complete unknown part of this world and that is what counts at TE.

Hi Grant,
The view and the colours are wonderful and so is the photo. All that starkness and aridity, the gradation of tones of the water and the texture of its surface, that charming boat on the middle accompanied by the smaller ones, all of that makes it very beautiful.
However, I don't resist being picky, as I feel that you were very close to 'perfection'. The compo would gain by being less centred, the noise is a bit annoying and that shadowed part isn't so well. These latter issues are due to the adverse light situation and you did a great job considering the circumstances.
TFS, Regards, José.

Hi Grant
A wonderful place not often seen on TE.
A very good composition under a fiery sun,but the main part, the cliffs are so well lighted with good colors that I have to say you did a great job of presenting us a stunning view.
Have a good day

Hi Grant - beautiful landscape, where the desert mountains meet the sea, a little overexposed, and it could use a little clockwise rotation.

A really nice ambience in this photo. A bit of a shame that it seems to tilt to the left, but I like it anyway.
