Photographer’s Note

You see here the border crossing Bahrain - Saudi Arabia. The picture was taken from a tower that is an exact copy of the one you see in the picture. That tower is on the Saudi side and has green lights (green national flag). 'Our' tower has red lights and is on the Bahrain side (red and white national flag). In the back you see the lights of the Saudi coastline.

No visa
We didn't have a Saudi visa and the line of cars waiting to cross the border was too long to try our luck to get a visa on the spot. We had some dinner and went back.

King Fahd Causeway
These towers were build on an artificial island right in between the two nations in the Persian Gulf. The 1986 King Fahd Causeway bridge connects both countries to the island. Two lanes go each way and it is 25 kilometers long in total and it took only 4 years to build.

Beautiful noturne shot here, Gilbert. well balanced lighting and a nice pov. Interesting the big construction on the left corner.

Hi Gilbert - a rare subject to see on this site, nice lights and a good note. I seriously doubt you would have had any luck with the visa if you tried, Saudi is notoriously difficult to enter, and from what I hear, not at all rewarding.
