Photographer’s Note

On October 29, 1923, the Turkish constitution was amended and Turkey became a republic and Ataturk elected as the first president. This formally declared the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire. Republic Day (Turkish: Cumhuriyet Bayramı) is celebrated throughout Turkey every year. Commemorative events usually begin in the afternoon on the previous day. It is a special day for them so, governments and schools close for a day.

This was taken during the Eskisehir Parade. After my son went to the school's ceremony, grabbed my camera and went to the parade. Among all the shots I made I liked 5 or 6 of them. However to upload, somehow, I again chose the one with children. 'Don't know why, I guess their expression attracts me the most.

Whenever you celebrate your Republic Day in your country, I would like to say "Happy Republic Day" in advance:)
