Old but happy - II Photo

Photographer’s Note

A second shot of this old nice man who is one of the last leaders of the famous order of bektashi's. When I had portraide him some 17 years ago, he was sitting on a table infront of a cafe house in Hacıbektas (a small city in central Anatolia) where this mystical order was born ; dipping his tea and joking with the members of the order, sitting around him.
I dedicate this shot "Old but happy-II" also to my TE friend Cuneyt !

Mesut bey merhaba,
Çok güzel bir portre çalışması. Eski Bektaşi dedesinin halinden belli mutlu, neşeli ve etrafına da neşe dağıttığı...
Ayrıca, dedenin yüz ifadesi de çok anlamlı.. Yüzdeki çizgiler de yılların derin izlerini taşıyor...

sehr gute Aufnahme als schwarz-weiß Portrait. Sein freundliches Gesicht mit allen liebevollen Spuren seines Lebens kommt so fantastisch heraus. Und eine sehr schöne Gabe an Cuneyt für seine gute Serie.
Und es ist gescannt, tolle Arbeit!

Mesut bey selamlar, cok guzel bir portre calismasi, adamin suratinda ki ifade muthis. Yuzde ki kirisikliklar, sakallar kompozisyonu guclendiriyor. Ust bolgedeki isik parlamasini saymazsak harika bir calisma olmus. Ellerinize saglik.

Très belle galerie en N&B que je découvre.
J'apprécierais un meilleur dégradé des gris. Ici, dans ce bon portrait, la surexpo n'est pas loin ;o)

Merhaba, Mesut, you have some powerful 'old' portraits in your gallery. Although I think the first one is stronger and give more impact, I like this one a lot, as well. It reminds me 'the old man and the sea' book. There's a lot of character here. Love the detail of the 'pin' floating on his very dark pullover.

Why 'old"BUT"happy'? Lot of old people I know are very happy.Happiness and old age are not mutually exclusive.

This is just a comment on the title,nothing to take away from the charm of the photograph.
