Photographer’s Note
I was trying to take a decent backlit photo of imposing Uchisar around sunset, when I gave a look at my back and saw this impressive cloud formation, over Pigeon Valley!
The Pigeon Valley is the one that "connects", Uchisar nad Goreme, two of the most beautiful villages of Cappadocia. It is called like that, because most of the huge conical rocks of the valley were converted in dovecots.
The pigeons presence was critical for the surviror and the "economy" of the region, for monks and civilians alike, for many centuries. The pigeons were very useful in 3 ways: 1) were used as food, 2) the pigeon-sh*t, mixed with soil was used as fertiliser for the arid ground of Cappadocia, 3)they were the "postmen" of that era.

hello Hercules,
the light is absolutely magic, the strong purple cast makes the scene dramatic, as if before some major event. compositionally I'd probably leave less foregrounde, the smooth surface of the rock on the left doesn't add much interest, but that's not a major point.
best,
Kristine

Hi Hercules, I always wondered what would happen if the techniques of yourself and Waylim were crossed and I think this is the result. Such a natural phenomena is a lucky thing, but being able to shoot it as artistically and expertly as you have done is quite another thing altogether. Once again, my compliments, Lisa.

Hi Hercules
All you need is some lightning and this could be Arches NP in Utah ;)) The blue eye is nicely balanced by the group of trees in the lower right. The colours are spectacular. A very fine shot my friend.

Hello Hercules,
One would believe oneself on another planet on this photograph. It is true that this stormy weather and the image processing creates all the atmosphere of the image. I like the horizontal format as much that vertical in WS. Pretty glance, Hercules cheer.
With all my friendships and a very good evening,

hi, Hercules,
you will never know what is happening if you didn't pay attention to your surrounding! what a surprise with this shot! it seems like a "war" is happening on the sky, the red clouds are going to attack the "blue eye"! what a powerful nature! very good lighting control with it!
