Photographer’s Note

Ahlat'taki Selçuklu mezarlığının yanındaki bu kümbetin adı nedir bilmiyorum. Önündeki tabelada şunlar yazıyor: Bu kümbet Ahlat kümbetlerinin en büyüklerindendir. Dış cephesindeki eşsiz süslemeler ve eşsiz mimarisiyle tanınır. Kitabesi olmadığından ne zaman yapıldığı, mimarının kim olduğu ve kimin adına yapıldığı bilinmemektedir. Mimarisi ve süslemelerine göre XII. yüzyılın son dönemlerinde yapıldığı kabul edilmektedir.

This tomb is the biggest of Ahlat’s tombs. It’s known richly decorated exterior and it’s unique architecture. Because of it’s no inscription, it is not known when the tomb was built, who the architect was and for whom the tomb was built. Due to it’s architecture and decorations, it’s included the end of XII. th. contury’s monuments.

Beautiful monument and decoration of the tomb. Even in the strong day light, you captured some nice colors and details. Composition is good but maybe a little better if it's not so center. Good work. Thanks

Hello Ugur. I must say I find this tomb very interesting in shape and size and character. Excellent detailed capture on a sunny day. I have been looking at the latest 7D review on dpreview.com web site. Now I am wondering if you wished you had waited or are you more than happy with your 50D?

Hi Ugur,
Impressive tomb, under a beautiful sky!
Perhaps the light is a little bit to hard here.
I wonder how a square format would have worked here, in order to decentralise this superb monument and to balance the composition with the clouds in the sky.
It is a very nice place!
