Nemrut Mountain and Crater Lakes
Nemrut Mountain was located inside the borders of Tatvan District, to the north of the province. The mountain is 2935 meters high and display volcanic characteristics. Nemrut Mountain is a natural wonder and is being visited by numerous local and foreign tourists, especially in the summer season every year. The Nemrut Lake is located inside the crater area of Nemrut Mountain and is the first greatest crater lake of our country and is the second greatest crater lake of the world. The mountain is 27 km. away from Bitlis and is 13 km. away from Tatvan and could be easily reached by Tatvan - Çekmece Village and Ahlat - Serinbayır village roads by private car.

Nemrut Gölü, Türkiye'nin en büyük krater gölü olup, adını M.Ö. 2100'de yaşamış Babil Hükümdarı Nemrut'tan almıştır. Yüksekliği 2250 metre olan Nemrut Dağı'nın 4. Zamanda patlaması sonucu oluşmuştur. Dağın tepesinde biri sıcak, iki krater gölü var. Soğuk Göl 13 kilometrekare büyüklükte, derinliği 155 metredir. Sıcak göl (Ilı Göl)'ün suyu 60 santigrat dereceye varabilmektedir. Üç kilometrekare alana sahiptir ve en derin noktası 100 metre civarındadır. İki göl arasında su bağlantıları bulunmaktadır. Nemrut Krater Gölü, Bitlis'e 26, Tatvan ilçesine 15 kilometre uzaklıktadır. Soğuk Göl'ün suyu tatlıdır ve içilebilir.

Yerli ve yabancı turistlerin ilgisini çeken gölün çevresinde dinlenme ve konaklama tesisleri bulunmamaktadır. Bitlis-Tatvan karayolundan 13 kilometre uzaklıkta olan Nemrut Krater Gölü'nün turizme açılması için Bitlis Valiliği'nce başlatılan çalışmalar sürmektedir.

A very pleasant landscape where the calm and undisturbed water surface reflects the clouds and the mountains. Are there any fish or any fishing activities here?

Merhaba Ugur,

Nemrut Dagini ve mesur dag tepesinde ki heykelleri biliyorum (maalesef daha göremedim), fakat Nemrut Gölünden, üstelik de dünyanin en büyük krater göllerinden biri oldugundan hiç haberim yoktu. Fotograf ve bol tavsilatli notunuz için tesekkür ederim. Hem Türkçe hem de Ingilice olunca bana daha da yariyor.

Saygi ve selamlar. Siz o Agri Dag resmini sundugunuzda, ben iki ws yollamistim. Hiç görebildinizmi?
