Photographer’s Note

I saw her from the distance and thought that with such a way to cover her face, she would try to avoid me ; instead, she joined our small party and was very happy to pose for me.

Her expressions were visible through her light veil and her eyes were telling too... Here, she is more serious...

(She was probably protecting her skin under the harsh sun ; in that village, many young women were not weiring anything on their heads).

This is the start of a small collection of different kinds of veils for women seen in east Turkey.

Bonsoir Cath,
Cette femme a de très beaux yeux, sombres et mystérieux. A moins que le mystère ne vienne de son voile et du fait que l'on ne peut pas voir son visage? Je la devine vraiment jolie.
Pour ma part, je préfère le cadrage serré de ton ws, j'aurais même serré encore plus, pour donner davantage d'impact à ses jolis yeux, si bien contrastés par le voile clair.

Hi Cath, her eyes certainly radiate her smile. Veils such as these are causing a bit of a stir in UK, should they be allowed in certain circumstances. I look forward to your series.

On devine de la malice dans le regard et effctivement le visage semble être illuminé par un sourire. J'aime bien faire travailler mon imagination et j'aime bien gamberger mais c'est quand même dur et triste (avec mes yeux d'Occidental laïque, pas de souci !!).

Hi Cath... The issue of the veil brings lot of discussions and different POV, but this is not for me the subject of this photo: The title is simple and perfect, as the photo itself is. This photo is about to smile. A true invitation. Let´s smile.
