Photographer's Note

Approximately 45.000 ships per year pass through the Bosphorus. By year 2000, the number of shipwrecks in the Bosphorus was counted to be 23, most of them having sunk due to bad weather conditions. Selin-S is one of them, lying still on the seashore. She sank on 29.12.1999 also because of bad weather. She weighs 4289 grosstons, and was empty while she sank. She has already become a sightseeing point, attracting lots of people, even tourists. Sometimes environmentalists protest against her, but municipality is mute, with no attempt to carry her away.
