Photographer's Note

From today onwards, for the next few days I will put only b&w prints from my archive.
This is a shot I made in 1960 in Fatih.
It was quite usual at that time that during the weekly market day (Wednesdays) mobile hairdressers took a place close to the market and utilised their job in open air. The city was at that time still under heavy construction. New ways was been opened and huge areas around major mosques of İstanbul lay under construction, like this one in front of the Fatih Mosque. Just behind the hairdresser you can notice the feet of a man who was laying on his back and enjoying the spring sun ! Those were the days!
