Photographers Note
This Desert Rabbit (Jerboa)lives in the vast lands of central and eastern Anatolia. It is rarely seen and hard to capture a picture.
It sleeps under the ground during day time and goes out about midnight to eat the fresh plants and seeds.
It is about 10-15 cms high and its tail is about 15-25 cms in length including the interesting feather at the end.
It very much looks like a Kangaroo, proportionally with very big legs and very strong tail. It moves like the Kangaroo also.
I was very lucky to capture this photo, about 00:30 midnight
Exact place is Karaman-Akcasehir natural preserve area.

How have you managed to take this photo? I admire this photo and your quick reflexes ;o)
I'm interested in nature but I've never seen this species.
Fantastic capture. Congratulations!

Hi Ozaydin.
This is a really interesting naturalistic document. It's the first time I see such kind of rabbit, and I didn't know there existed before you post this picture. Your shot is perfect, with regard to the condition you had to manage (perfect light and sharpness, in night conditions). The crop is great and the frame is well seen. But as I said, if the technical aspects are nice, this is the animal which is for me the most interesting.
Thanks for sharing!
Regards.

Now this is a great shot- and PERFECT for TrekEarth!
Perfect for TrekEarth as you are showing me something I have NEVER seen before (and I watch a lot of Discovery Channel! Hahaha). Is this actually a type of Rabbit? It almost looks more like a type of mouse, the short hair, the long tail.
Does it have any forearms? I can only see those giganticly large feet!
Well done Ozaydin, not an easily captured shot- I can imagine.
Cheers,
- Dan
