Photographer’s Note

A friend and I borrowed the company car and went up on one of the mountains surrounding Maras.
Almost at the top, we saw these 4 guys enjoying there barbecue at what must be one of the best views in the area.

Thankfully they had no problems with me taking pictures, actually i was invited for lunch:)

I like the casual mood of this shot, Harry, especially as they seem to be having their barbecue at the edge of a cliff.
I also like how you captured the smoke and how the 4th guy seems to be disappearing into it.

Hi Harry, I'm sure it's the perspective from your lens that makes these guys seem so close to the cliff edge, with little room between the edge and the road. In any case, it works well, what a great backdrop. It's an interesting place to have a barbecue.

I find the positions and poses kind of interesting. The first guy, knows the camera is on him, and is trying to ignore you, or at least look nonchalant. The 2nd guy has a point to make, and he's going to make it no matter what, but the last two guys are kind of interested in what you're up to, and have no qualms about posing, maybe because they're half hidden by the smoke. And how was lunch?
