Photographer's Note
This is the famous Bosphorus Bridge of Istanbul, connecting both parts (Asian and Eruopean parts) of thic city.
Untill it's construction the connections was been made with a huge fleet of boats and ferryboats, which took at those days a time of almost 45 minutes.
Nowadays you are only within 5 minutes either in Europe or Asia.
The construction begun in the year 1970 and was finished in 1973. The ceremonial opening took place on 29 October 1973, the most important holiday of Turkey the foundation day of the modern Turkish Republic.
Nowadays about 200.000 vehicles are travelling every day on that bridge.
Nowadays 3 spanning bridges are connecting two parts of the city.
When the first bridge was finished I was on a business trip in Japan.
On a dinner we were enjoying Sake and discussing different matters.
When I mentioned the bridge, my Japanes friend said : "Well you're now a frequent traveller between Europe and Asia". Aren't you ?

Hello Mesut,
Five minutes of the new world to the old world.
The picture is not best of quality but the darkness was maybe the cause.
But wonderful pictures
An excellent composition.
Very well done, TFS.

Hello Mesut,
Ten years after the bridge was opened to traffic I was on a night bus from Ankara to Istanbul. I sat at a window on the left and remember that I wanted to wake up early because I absolutely wanted to see the view of Eminönü. Of course, the bus drove over the bridge way too fast to my liking.
Many photos of the first bridge over the Bosphorus have already been shown, but I don't remember any taken from the same point of view.
It looks like you were standing very close to the waterfront.
Can you remember how many times in your life you've travelled from Europe to Asia and vice versa?
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Mesut
bella e lunga diagonale immersa tra i dolci colori del cielo, mentre in lontananza la città ci offre la sua silhouette.

Hello Mesut
Not ultrasharp, but what it lacks there, it makes up in atmosphere, so I do like the end result.
