Photographer's Note
Another capture -this time in b&w- from my archive.
Scanned from a b&w print.
In the sixties I used to spend my summer vacations on a wonderfull small village on the shores of the sea of Marmara.
There one had the feeling that time had stopped.
This brother and sister were on the way to the fields, the brother sitting comfortably on his dokey and his sister walking.
I do not think that it has cahnged much after half a century there. Still ladies first :-)
By the way I want to dedicate todays entry to my friend Gert Holmertz -another creative and loyal member of this site- who allways enriches our knowledge with wonderfull old b&w captures/entries from all over the World.

Hello Mesut,
First of all, thank you very much for your kind dedication. I really appreciate it.
And then my compliments for this nicely nostalgic photo in a very carefully scanned B&W photo. If it already in the 1990's was like time had stood still in that village, it has certainly not changed in 50 years according to this photo. Except for this two children who are now approaching old age. They have seen big changes of society in their lives.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Mesut
The B&W mood is appropriate to give a timeless impression, the couleur would have distracted the eye - for example the cap of the young boy would have been too evident.
Have a nice day

Bonjour Mesut,
Cinquante ans déjà et pourtant cette photo n'a pas pris une seule ride et je pense que des photos semblables soient possible de nos jours dans certaines régions.
Amicalement

This is a fantastic document from your archive, the witness of the old days, but "tempora mutantur" and I hope changes also came to this village :)

Hello Mesut,
Fifty year old maybe are the donkey and the lady a long time already dead.
A nice panoramic view with the black and white are successful.
Composition and presentation are pleasant to look at.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Dear Mesut,
You contributed to the site with a beautiful BW shot! The tones are excellent, the elaboration is faultless. But of course the subjects sell the picture.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hi Mesut,
On reading the note, I thought maybe there was some misogyny there, with the brother riding and the sister walking ; But on looking closer, I think the boy is probabbly younger ; That's why he gets a ride ! Anyway, it's a lovely reminder of life as it was 50 years ago ! And you think it's pretty much the same over there now ?, when things have changed so much during that time all over the world !
Kind regards.
Marie-Louise.
