Photographer's Note

The New Mosque (Yeni Camii in Turkish) in the bg is not so new and dates from 1663 AD, with an initial start date of 1597 AD. It was in partial ruins between 1603 and 1660 AD, when the great fire of Istanbul destroyed large parts of the city and there was then a higher priority to complete it. But here I liked the simple portable toasted corn on the cob stand in the fg. Looks like it also sells roasted chestnuts. Its colours also stood out on a grey rainy day.
