Photographer's Note

Since some years, Myra's Greco-Roman theatre, which is the largest in Lycia and one of the main attractions with its still preserved double-vaulted corridors, is going to be 'renovated'. Archeologists have sorted out all the parts belonging to the theatre they excavated. Cataloged, the try to put the puzzle together...

Among the parts of the huge 'construction' kit, there are lots of carved masks ornaments, which will hopefully come one day back to their respective places.
More details of the picture, have a closer look !

Within the theatre an inscription can still be seen: "place of the vendor Gelasius" - may be an old fish and chips shop - was located there in the ancient times.
