LONELY TREE, a photo from Aksaray, Central Anatolia

Photographer's Note

This a shot of a lonely but lovely tree surrounded by a great nature and history.

South of the village of Helvadere (Valley of Turkish Honey), at the northern foot of Hasan Dag about 45km southeast of Aksaray, the ruins of a monastery lie hidden in a volcanic crater, access to which is via a narrow cleft in the rock. Known as "Viransehir" (Destroyed City), there are other remains also, including those of a Byzantine fortress and two fine churches - the Kara Kilise (Black Church), a single-aisled basilica, and the cruciform Kemerli Kilise (Arcaded Church) constructed out of uniform blocks of trachyte.

Hello Pinar,

I like this acid yellow colour and this flashy green ! Your picture stands for a Western scenery. Moreover, your note is rather instructive. Well done.

Atlas Dergisi'nde gördüğüm fotoğraflar gibi.Ağacın yerleşimi güzel.Biraz daha büyük olsa ağaç daha iyi olacakmış.Mesela bi 10 sene sonra gibi çeksek daha güzel olacak diye düşünüyorum.Dağlar çok keskin çıkmış.Sharpen sanırım biraz fazla kaçmış.

Merhaba Pınar.
Burası çok güzel bir yermiş gerçekten, renklerin dağılımı çok güzel görünüyor.
Keşke uzakta görünen ağaca yakınlaşıp sararmış ekinlerle birlikte çekme şansın olsaymış.
Benim çekmek istedim fotoğraf karelerinden biridir, sararmış otlar ve içlerinde yemyeşil bir ağaç.
Belki farklı bir isim verilebilirdi fotoğrafınıza ama böyle de çok güzel.
Ellerinize, gözlerinize ve yüreğinize sağlık.
