Colors on Lake, a photo from Ankara, Central Anatolia

Photographer's Note

This is a sunset view from Mogan Lake, which is located 20 km south of Ankara. The Konya road goes along the eastern shores whereas Haymana road coveres its western shores.

It is a shallow eutrophic freshwater lake fringed with reedbeds of variable width. It is fed by the small stream south of the lake coming from the Haymana Plateou and flows into the lake Eymir through a regulator. North of the lake the town Gölbaþý located. Around the town there are lots of holiday homes. Along the shores of the northern half of the lake there are farm houses, restaurants and houses.

South of the lake there is ca. 750 ha. large extensive marshland and wet meadows including Gölcük and Çökek marshes. In the surroundings specially south of the lake there is limited agricultural activity. The lake is extensively used by fishermen, sailors and picknickers.

Hi Pinar, nice shot. It's very well composed, the boat is placed in a nice position. These man in the boat have a bit scary appearance with these coats.
Unfortunatly the quality from this shot is far from good. There is lot's of colour noise, the tones of the water don't seem appropriate, there are many jpeg artifacts (around places with high contrasts, such as around the coats of these man)
Also the city seems very blurry from place to place, that's a real pity. I see you compressed it till 57kb, I think this was far from necessary. Try to use the full 200kb allowed, really, this way you maintain most of the details.
Another point can be, that there is to much sky, the most upper part doesn't add much, I think. Maybe show more of the water, more ripples in it. Or details from the foreground, if you take such shots from land (thus not from another boat).
Hope you can do something with the above.

Beautiful scene, pale sunset colours and the passing boat is placed excellently.
But I have to agree with Emiel, there are some elements that lack focus and that could very much come from the small file size.
Doesn't matter too much as I feel the scene is very beautiful.
Like I mentioned the sunset colours are very pale, have you considered adjusting the levels to fet a slightly darker view?

Şehirdeki tantanadan kaçmanın iki yolu vardır.Ya fotograf makinesini alıp dışarı çıkmak ya da bir kayıkla sulara açılmak.Sen ikisini de yapmışsın. Tebrikler...

kayıgın arkasında bıraktıgı ufak dalgalanma , buna ilaveten özellikle gökyüzünde biriken renk katmanları çok hoş. belki çerçeve düşünebilirdin
