Photographer’s Note

I was shooting the lone tree in desert in this picture when the sand storm started to appear ... Storm in the desert gives you very less warning to run for cover .. i was lucky that myself and my daughter made it to the car in time before the wall of sand hit us !!

Stunning! I bet you were lucky indeed, both to get safe on time and to manage this beautiful shot! Did you use HDR technique? The details are splendid, especially in the sky with the sunset like scenery (coupled with backlight effect) created by the sand "wall". The lonely tree really stands out in your composition and make it all works perfectly.

I like the warm colours of the picture, they make the landscape look so warm and peaceful, one almost forgets the danger of the oncoming sandstorm.
