Photographer’s Note
A late afternoon shot of the amazing Dubai skyline from Dubai Creek. The old boats in the foreground contrast nicely with the modern skyline. On the left is the highest building in the world, the Burj Dubai.
There was a thick yellow haze when I took this photo, so I have cleaned it up in Photoshop. I increased the contrast in the sky, increased the blue, and applied a contrast mask to lighten up the boats and trees and to emphahsise the skyline buildings. Then I resized, sharpened and put a frame on.

Hello Vincent
I like how this photo seems to be split in 2 - the hazy background and the crisp and clear dhows in the foreground. It looks hot! Tfs, Marlene

Hello Vincent,
I find this a thought-provoking photo, showing the old waterfront with freshness and clear detail against the backdrop of the the obviously hot and dusty new city. Artistically, it's very good and stands on its own. However, if you intended a message, I would have cropped the big white yacht on the right to reinforce the contrast between old and new.
Regards,
Mary
