Photographer’s Note
English version:
The Dhar Al Hajjar is famous all over the country and even beyond the borders. But this... I had heard nothing about it. Although, it amazed me as much as the famous palace on the rock. It's a simple house in the village just before. I think the village is named Qaryat Al-Qabil, but I am not sure on this point.

Hi Marine,
the architecture of this region is unique. As a teenager I watched Pier Paolo Pasolini´s movie "Arabian nights" (Il fiore di mille e una notte") from 1974, he made it down there, with actors from here, with the original houses. I was deeply impressed and ddn´t believe that this exists in reality.
Compliments, Chris

Ciao Marine,
you're right! it's really an impressive example of the local typical architecture! Maybe it could be a house built on an ancient round tower? It reminds me of a chess tower!
Beautiful composition, perhaps a little too light, but I know, the middle east has a difficult light to manage!
I like the fact that you chose to include the white gutter as an another element of the architecture. It fits it well someway!

Salut Marine,

Hi Marine, another remarkeble peice of yemeni archetecture. On my visit there I did not see any round buildings and especially not ones like this, with a square top. The houses in the BG are also quite interesting. cheers, Steve

Beautiful building Marine...I did not pass or notice this building when I was there last year. Indeed it is very unique, and has its own charm. I wish you had moved a bit closer so not to have the tree blocking the architecture, as well as avoiding the power lines (though I know this is impossible in some situations in Yemen!)
Regards,
David

Salut Marine,
Bizz
Phil
