Photographer’s Note

Western Brook Pond in Gros Morne National Park is a must-see. This "pond" (with waves as big as you'll find on any of the Great Lakes) was once connected to the sea, but is now land-locked. It narrows to a point, surrounded by towering rock walls and the occasional misty waterfall. The boat tour takes you right to the end and back. This was the little boat; I was on the slightly bigger boat.

To make this photo small enough for TE I really lost some of the quality, unfortunately. It is not as grainy but there you go, I still haven't figured out how to get nicely posted photos using my nicer originals!
