Photographer's Note

After few days of very low temperatures around -40, the shalow parts of St. Laurence River were completely frozen. We took opportunity of the sunny and warmer temperatures on the weekend that followed to walk on the river and enjoy a little the white landscape which was quite new to us at the time. For the first time of my life I saw some icefishing. They were looking for places to make holes on the thick ice and them throw their fish-hook inside. I just don't know how they can stay sitted waiting hours for the fishes with such a cold... I hope to be able to try it next year, this year the winter was quite warm and the snow was melting so the river didn't froze.

Picture was taken form a pedestrian bridge over the railway 20, we can see on the backgroun Montreal's port. I cropped botton and cloned some branches that were bothering the composition on the left side. Automatic color correction.
