Photographer’s Note
Bow Lake in the morning, with a mountain reflecting off the perfectly still water. One of the nice attributes of the Canadian Rockies is that there is often very little wind on the many glacial lakes in the area. My guess is that this is a byproduct of the incredibly steep mountains that ring many of these lakes. Whether that is the completely correct assumption or not, the still water makes them a joy to photograph.

Hi, Colin.
Your theory sounds good to me. And the incredibly still water certainly makes this a very photogenic area.
The reflections here are absolutely fabulous and you have made the most of your wide-angle lens and that polariser. The sharpness, detail and colours are superb and I love the way the reflections touch the foreground edge of the lake.
Just the next thing you need to do, now that you are producing pictures of this extremely high quality, is go onto GoogleEarth, set latitude and longitude to decimals, then give us map references for these wonderful places so that we can click on Map:[view] and see an aerial view of the area!
A Fantastic Shot!
Best Wishes,
John.

Hello Colin,
Very beautiful colours early in the morning.
I like your composition very much with the small rocks on the foreground touching the reflections of the mountains in the lake.
The reflections are absolutely wonderful.
Best regards, Paul
