Photographer’s Note

Canada's famous Moraine Lake at sunrise. The peaks that surround Moraine Lake are situated mostly to the South of Moraine Lake, so block the sun for much of the day, making sunrise and sunset some of the best times to see the lake. Unfortunately, those times dont always coincide nicely with a lack of wind, so it can be tough to get a perfect reflection. On this particular morning, I was afforded maybe 15 minutes where the water was only somewhat still. The wind then picked up quite a bit and my chance was gone. Thankfully, I was able to get this shot with the sun just starting to hit the peaks on the other side of the lake. The POV is from a flow of logs on the lake that sit on the other side of the well known rock pile viewing point.
