Photographer's Note

The Alberta Hotel at 9804 Jasper Avenue was built originally in 1903. Then construction of Canada Place became a priority, forcing its demolition in 1984. The new and current version of the hotel commenced construction in November of 1985, with completion a few years later. It looks out on a small park, and the whole is across the street from the Edmonton Welcome Centre. The latter was closed at the time of my visit in May of this year so maybe I was not welcome? :-)
